July 22 2019 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Monterey Amberjacks 13-4 in a seven-inning game, collecting 13 hits while holding Monterey to four. Bakersfield scored twice in the first inning, added a run in the second and broke the game open with seven runs in the third. The Train Robbers added two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to complete the scoring.
Edilson Alvarez earned the win for Bakersfield after allowing four runs on four hits in seven innings. He struck out six and walked one. Alvarez also contributed at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. Luis Alvarado drove in two runs, while Nyles Nygaard and Ben Tingen each collected two hits. Jarel McDade scored three runs, and Noah Etheridge had three hits.
Monterey scored once in the second inning and three times in the third. Brooks Benson provided the Amberjacks biggest offensive contribution with a home run and three RBI, while Rory Graf-Brennan added a double and an RBI. Ty Tracy took the loss after surrendering 10 runs, eight earned, on 11 hits in 2 2/3 innings. The game was played July 22 2019 at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark.
