June 22 2023 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Lancaster Sound Breakers 12-6, overcoming a two-run Lancaster second inning and pulling away with 10 runs over the final seven innings. Bakersfield collected 10 hits and committed one error, while Lancaster finished with 11 hits and three errors.
Tevin Brown led Bakersfield with three hits, four runs and one RBI. Christian Jones scored three runs and added a triple, a hit and one RBI, while S. Goodwin had two hits and two runs. Rick Phillips and Max Tracey each drove in two runs, and Tracey also scored once and drew two walks.
Bakersfield scored three runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth to take a 6-2 lead. After Lancaster cut the margin with a run in the fifth and another in the sixth, the Train Robbers answered with three runs in the bottom of the sixth and added a run in the seventh and two in the eighth. Lancasters Luke Smith hit a home run and finished with two hits and two RBI. Kyle Jenkins and Evan Antonellis also collected two hits apiece for the Sound Breakers.
Chris Rodriguez earned the win after allowing 10 hits and six runs in seven innings, with four walks and six strikeouts. Jonny Damon worked a scoreless inning with one hit allowed, and Hunter Adams struck out one in a hitless ninth. Andrew Moore took the loss for Lancaster after allowing four earned runs in two innings.
