Bakersfield Train Robbers Defeat Dublin Leprechauns 19-11

July 5 2023 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 19-11 at Sam Lynn Ballpark. Bakersfield scored nine runs in the second inning to take control after Dublin opened with three runs in the first. The Train Robbers finished with 11 hits and one error while Dublin collected 18 hits and committed four errors.

Rick Phillips led Bakersfield with two hits and four RBI including his seventh home run of the season. Christian Jones drove in two runs and Chris Iazzetta and Seth Strong each added two RBI. Tom Buckman scored three times and went 2-for-2 with a walk while Blake Vandiver reached base three times with three walks.

Dublin continued to produce offensively with four runs in the fourth and two in the fifth but Bakersfield answered with two runs in the fourth and five in the sixth. Josue Rivera went 4-for-5 with three runs and an RBI for Dublin while Ashanti Ross collected five hits in five at-bats. Arnold Dominquez homered and drove in three runs and Calvin Cromwell also finished with three RBI.

Hunter Adams earned the win after allowing four hits and no runs over two innings with one strikeout. Aaron Hurt started for Bakersfield and surrendered nine runs eight earned on 11 hits in four innings. Dublin starter Meltavis Robertson took the loss after giving up nine earned runs on four hits and six walks in 1.1 innings.
