Lancaster Scores 22 to Defeat Bakersfield

July 6 2023 The Lancaster Sound Breakers defeated the Bakersfield Train Robbers 22-15 in a seven-inning game at Sam Lynn Ballpark. Lancaster collected 20 hits and overcame four errors while Bakersfield finished with 12 hits and no errors.

Jacob Jablonski and Evan Antonellis each went 3-for-4 with five RBIs for Lancaster. Jablonski scored three runs, while Antonellis scored three and hit his 10th home run of the season. Kyle Jenkins added three hits, three RBIs and a home run, and Christian Quezada and Joe Richter also homered for the Sound Breakers.

Bakersfield built an early 10-8 lead through four innings after scoring seven times in the second. Lancaster then seized control with five runs in the fifth and five more in the sixth before adding four in the seventh. The Train Robbers scored five in the bottom of the seventh, but could not close the gap.

Brian Blackburn earned the win for Lancaster after allowing two hits and one earned run in 3.1 innings. He walked seven and struck out three. Joe Richter hit his first home run and drove in one run for the Sound Breakers. Rick Phillips led Bakersfield with two hits and five RBIs, including his eighth home run, while Cameron Jones also homered. Cameron Isbell took the loss after allowing seven hits and nine earned runs in one inning.
