Train Robbers Roll Past Leprechauns 16-7

May 23 2024 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 16-7 behind an 18-hit attack at Sam Lynn Ballpark. Bakersfield jumped ahead 6-0 in the first inning and added single runs in the second and third before extending its lead with two runs in the fourth. The Train Robbers put the game away with six runs in the eighth inning.

J. Lee led Bakersfield with five hits in five at-bats, scoring three runs and driving in two. R. Ortega went 4-for-4 with four runs and three RBI, while J. Burns had two hits, including a triple, and three RBI. P. Carreno added two hits and four RBI, and A. Miller contributed two hits and one RBI.

Dublin scored once in the third, four times in the fourth, and once in each of the fifth and sixth innings. J. Williams provided the biggest offensive blow for the Leprechauns with a home run and four RBI. N. Antony scored three runs and collected two hits, while M. Sonn had two hits.

Bakersfield starter Joe Riddle earned the win after allowing seven runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings with three walks and four strikeouts. Alan Dooley recorded the save with 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing three hits while striking out three. Dublin starter Brad Morano was charged with the loss after surrendering six runs on six hits without recording an out.
