June 19 2024 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the San Rafael Pacifics 8-5 after building an early lead and holding off a five-run San Rafael sixth inning. Bakersfield scored once in the first, twice in the third, four times in the fifth and once in the seventh. San Rafael’s only scoring came in the sixth.
Raul Ortega led Bakersfield with three hits, two runs, an RBI and two walks.
Jalyn Lee added two hits, two runs and two RBIs, while
Josh Burns drove in two runs.
Joe Riddle contributed two hits and an RBI. San Rafael’s
Esai Santos had two hits and two RBIs, and
Mark Hernandez also collected two hits.
Riddle earned the win after allowing four hits and five runs over six innings with three walks and two strikeouts.
Josiah Bowles followed with two scoreless innings, and
Jayden Metz worked a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts for the save. San Rafael starter
Kohto Hasegawa took the loss, surrendering nine hits and eight earned runs in 6.2 innings while walking seven and striking out five.
Dan Crossan held Bakersfield scoreless over the final 1.1 innings.
