Dublin Leprechauns Hold Off Bakersfield Train Robbers 6-4

July 7 2025 The Dublin Leprechauns defeated the Bakersfield Train Robbers 6-4 at Sam Lynn Ballpark. Dublin collected nine hits and scored once in the second inning before breaking a 1-1 tie with five runs in the fifth. Bakersfield answered with one run in each of the fifth sixth and seventh innings but could not complete the comeback.

Sam Ott went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run for Dublin while Gordon Wend contributed two hits and two RBI. DJ Aceron Jr. added a hit and an RBI, and Abraham De La Cruz and Juan Zorola each doubled. Bakersfield also finished with nine hits as Joe Starick went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run and Jared Gay went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run. Caleb Harmond and Tyler McKenna also drove in runs.

Wend earned the win after allowing three runs on eight hits in six innings with one walk and two strikeouts. Nico Camacho worked two innings and allowed one run while striking out three, and Brad Moreno secured the save with a scoreless ninth and two strikeouts. Jacob Perez took the loss for Bakersfield after giving up six runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings.
