Train Robbers Pull Away From Amberjacks 8-3

July 19 2025 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Monterey Amberjacks 8-3 after collecting 10 hits and scoring in four different innings. Bakersfield took a 1-0 lead in the first, Monterey answered with three runs in the second, and the Train Robbers regained control with four runs in the third. Bakersfield added a run in the fifth and two more in the ninth.

Jared Gay led Bakersfield with a 2-for-4 performance that included a home run, four RBI and two runs scored. Joe Riddle went 2-for-5 with three RBI, while Jumpei Ohashi and Emilio Luna each recorded two hits. Riddle also delivered the winning pitching performance.

Riddle allowed eight hits and three earned runs in five innings while striking out seven and walking three. Josiah Bowles followed with three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out five, and Jayden Metz completed the shutout relief effort with two strikeouts in a scoreless ninth. Monterey starter Nick Samudio took the loss after allowing six runs, five earned, on eight hits in eight innings while striking out eight.

Luis Medina and Ramiro Reyna each had two hits for Monterey. Ryan Pruett drove in a run and Reyna added the Amberjacks other RBI in the defeat.
