Train Robbers Rally Past Amberjacks 5-4

July 22 2025 The Bakersfield Train Robbers rallied for two runs in the ninth inning to defeat the Monterey Amberjacks 5-4 at Sam Lynn Ballpark. Bakersfield collected 14 hits and overcame a 4-3 deficit entering the final inning while Monterey finished with five hits and three errors.

Monterey scored twice in the third and twice in the fourth. Luis Medina went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI while Jason Hartwick doubled and drove in a run. Oswaldo Caldera and Alex Elliott also recorded RBIs for the Amberjacks.

Bakersfield answered with single runs in the second fifth and sixth innings before taking the lead in the ninth. Ashanti Ross and Jumpei Ohashi each had two hits and Ryan Anderson went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Luke Eskew added two hits and an RBI while Tyler McKenna delivered two RBIs.

Jack Martin earned the win for Bakersfield after throwing two scoreless innings with five strikeouts. Nick Danbrowney struck out nine in five innings but allowed four runs and took a no-decision. Jason Hartwick pitched all eight innings for Monterey allowing five runs four earned on 12 hits with five walks and three strikeouts.
