Train Robbers Rally Past Amberjacks 7-5

July 23 2025 The Bakersfield Train Robbers rallied past the Monterey Amberjacks 7-5 after scoring seven runs across the sixth and seventh innings. Bakersfield finished with nine hits while Monterey collected 10, but two errors contributed to the Amberjacks’ defeat.

Monterey took a 2-0 lead with single runs in the second and fifth innings. Bakersfield answered with three runs in the sixth and four more in the seventh to move ahead 7-2. Monterey scored three times in the eighth, but Bakersfield held on for the victory.

Emilio Luna went 2-for-4 with two runs for Bakersfield, while Ashanti Ross added two hits, a walk and an RBI. Jumpei Ohashi drove in two runs, and Ryan Anderson contributed an RBI. Monterey’s Manuel Alvarez went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Ethan Martinez had a hit and an RBI.

Art Joven earned the win after allowing two runs on seven hits in seven innings while striking out 10 and walking three. Jayden Metz recorded the save with 1 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing no hits and striking out two. Tyler Toland took the loss for Monterey after giving up three earned runs in six innings with four strikeouts and six walks.
