Bakersfield Train Robbers Defeat Vallejo Seaweed 9-3

July 25 2025 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Vallejo Seaweed 9-3 after building an early lead and pulling away with a four-run seventh inning. Bakersfield finished with nine hits and no errors, while Vallejo collected 10 hits and also played error-free baseball. Vallejo scored once in the first and twice in the third, but Bakersfield answered with two runs in the second, two in the third and one in the fifth before its seventh-inning surge made it 9-3.

Jumpei Ohashi led Bakersfield with two hits and three RBI. Tyler McKenna and Emilio Luna each had two hits, with McKenna driving in two runs. Tyler Warr added one hit and two RBI, while Jared Gay contributed a hit and an RBI. Vallejo’s Brendan Hillis went 3-for-4, and Michael Pavelchak had two hits including a triple. Pavelchak scored twice, while Bryce Hayman and Aaron Harper each drove in a run for the Seaweed.

A J Cordova earned the win for Bakersfield after allowing seven hits and three earned runs in six innings. He struck out five and walked six. C Cook worked a scoreless seventh with three strikeouts, and Josiah Bowles retired the side in a scoreless eighth. Francisco Leon took the loss for Vallejo despite pitching eight innings, allowing nine runs on nine hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Anthony Espinoza pitched a scoreless ninth.
