Train Robbers Blank Sturgeon Behind 17 Hit Attack

July 26 2025 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Martinez Sturgeon 12-0, collecting 17 hits while limiting Martinez to four hits. Bakersfield scored twice in the second inning, added three runs in the fourth, and extended its lead with single runs in the seventh and eighth before breaking the game open with five runs in the ninth.

Jumpei Ohashi powered the Train Robbers offense with three hits, three runs and four RBI, including two home runs. Jared Gay added two hits and three RBI, Tyler Warr went 1-for-5 with two RBI and a home run, and Ashanti Ross finished with three hits, one RBI and three runs scored. Joe Riddle also contributed two hits and an RBI from the pitcher’s spot.

Riddle earned the win after allowing one hit and no runs over five innings. He walked three and struck out three. Nick Danbrowney followed with two scoreless innings and three strikeouts, while Jayden Metz and Jack Martin each worked a scoreless inning to complete the shutout.

Jackson Kea took the loss for Martinez after surrendering 10 hits and five earned runs in four innings. Garret Mos allowed one run over three innings, and Pedro Agula gave up six runs over two innings as Bakersfield finished the game with a decisive five-run ninth.
