7/8/2026-Bakersfield Train Robbers Rally Past Austin Weirdos 8-6
The Bakersfield Train Robbers scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally past the
Austin Weirdos 8-6 on July 9, 2026.
Austin opened the game with four runs in the top of the first inning and carried a 5-3 lead into the
late innings. Bakersfield scored once in each of the first three innings before its decisive eighth-
inning rally turned a two-run deficit into an 8-5 advantage.
Maxim Fullerton delivered the biggest hit for Bakersfield, finishing 2-for-4 with a home run, four
RBIs and a run scored. Joe Starick went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI.
Zach Beatty drove in two runs, while Joe Riddle added an RBI. Christian Altamirano collected two
hits and scored a run, and Lucas Belcher went 2-for-2 at the plate.
Belcher was also outstanding on the mound, earning the victory after throwing 4 2/3 scoreless
innings of relief. He allowed only one hit, did not issue a walk and struck out eight. Jayden Metz
recorded the final out for his fourth save of the season.
Austin was led by Chris Tsouras, who went 2-for-4 with a home run, an RBI and a run scored. Mason
Refuerzo added two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs.
Sean Tanaka doubled and drove in two runs, while Cono Casale added an RBI. The Weirdos scored once
in the ninth inning but could not complete the comeback.
Bakersfield finished with eight runs on 14 hits and committed one error. Austin totaled six runs on
nine hits and committed two errors.
