June 8 2018 The High Desert Yardbirds rallied past the Bakersfield Train Robbers 11-9 at Adelanto Stadium. High Desert collected 15 hits and overcame an early deficit to secure the win, while Bakersfield finished with nine hits and one error. The game was delayed by a bank of lights going out and requiring a reset.
Bakersfield scored in each of the first four innings, building a 9-5 lead. High Desert answered with five runs in the fifth inning to move in front 10-9, then added another run in the sixth for the final margin. The Yardbirds held Bakersfield scoreless over the final five innings.
Dominic Zaher led High Desert with a 4-for-5 performance, scoring four runs and driving in one. Jake Marshall went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Kent Blackstone and B. Harmon each had two hits and two RBIs. Shane Castro also contributed a hit and two RBIs.
Shane Castro earned the win after allowing three hits and no runs in 4.1 innings with three strikeouts. Avery Brandon recorded the save with a scoreless inning, allowing no hits and striking out one. Bakersfield starter Jesse Remington took the loss after surrendering 10 runs nine earned on 12 hits in 4.1 innings.
