May 30 2019 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the California City Whiptails 11-9 in 11 innings. Bakersfield collected 12 hits and overcame a seven-run ninth inning by California to secure the victory.
Bakersfield took an 8-2 lead through eight innings after scoring three times in the third, once in the sixth, twice in the seventh and twice in the eighth. California then erupted for seven runs in the ninth to move ahead 9-8, but the Train Robbers answered with a run in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game. Bakersfield scored twice in the 11th for the decisive margin.
J. Hernandez led Bakersfield with two hits, a home run and four RBI. Luis Alvarado added two hits and two RBI, while T. Davis and Darian Fleming each had two hits. Andres Rios scored three runs and reached base twice with walks. California's Blake Wilson went 3-for-6 with three RBI, Blake Maddox had two hits and three RBI, and Tyler England contributed two hits, two walks and one RBI.
Ernesto Alvarez held California to two runs on six hits over eight innings while striking out 10. Sergio Valenzuela earned the win after allowing one hit and no runs in two innings with two strikeouts. California's Blake Wilson took the loss after allowing two runs in two innings.
