June 14 2019 The Monterey Amberjacks defeated the Bakersfield Train Robbers 13-2, using a nine-run second inning to take control. Bakersfield scored twice in the second, but Monterey answered with nine runs in the bottom half and added a run in the third and three more in the eighth. Monterey finished with 13 hits while limiting Bakersfield to five.
Nathaniel Thompson went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI for Monterey. Coleman Poje added a 3-for-4 performance with a home run and three RBI, while James Prockish also collected three hits. Steven Longo and Morgan Blatnik each scored twice, and Brooks Benson drove in two runs.
George Faue earned the win for Monterey after allowing three hits and two runs over seven innings. He walked two and struck out 15. Andrew Arnold and Aaron Cook each added a scoreless inning in relief. Bakersfield starter Emmanuel Velasquez took the loss after surrendering 10 earned runs on nine hits in 2.1 innings.
