July 8 2019 The Tucson Saguaros defeated the Bakersfield Train Robbers 4-0 behind a complete-game shutout from Michael Klein. Tucson collected 10 hits and held Bakersfield to three hits in the victory.
Tucson broke through with three runs in the fifth inning and added another run in the eighth. Evan Douglas delivered a two-run double and finished with two RBIs, while Riley Richarz added an RBI and scored once. Lawrence Chavez and Shawn Barrowdale each had two hits for the Saguaros, and Klein contributed two hits of his own.
Klein allowed three hits and one walk over nine innings while striking out 14 batters. He threw 114 pitches, including 77 strikes, to earn the win. Bakersfield starter Reid Feeley took the loss after allowing three runs on seven hits with two walks and eight strikeouts in six innings.
Bakersfield managed two hits from Evan Hirschbaum, who also recorded the Train Robbers only extra-base hit with a double. Tucsons four-run offense was enough as Bakersfield was held scoreless in all nine innings.
