Judgment Day Half Marathon & 5K returns to Sam Lynn October 8 2023

Judgment Day Half Marathon returns to Sam Lynn Ballpark for the 11th year a row. The annual race will occur October 8, 2023 at 7:15 AM.
THIS IS A VERY SCENIC COURSE. IT WILL START & FINISH AT THE HISTORIC SAM LYNN BALLPARK. YOU WILL RUN OUT THE BACK GATE TO THE PAVED KERN RIVER TRAIL (EAST) INTO THE PANORAMA VISTA PRESERVE (DIRT TRAILS) FOR A 3.5 MILE LOOP, AND THEN BACK ONTO THE KERN RIVER TRAIL TO CHINA GRADE ROAD. RUNNERS WILL TURN RIGHT ONTO THE ALFRED HARRELL HWY/CHINA GRADE LOOP (CLOSED ROAD) - YES THAT"S A CHALLENGING 1 MILE CLIMB UP TO THE PANORAMA BLUFFS, BUT EVERYONE LOVES IT, AND JUDGMENT DAY WOULDN"T BE THE SAME WITHOUT IT! ONCE AT THE TOP, YOU WILL CONTINUE THROUGH PANORAMA PARK ALONG THE BLUFFS WITH AWESOME VISTA VIEWS, BEFORE SWEEPING BACK DOWN TO THE PAVED RUNNING TRAIL ALONG THE KERN RIVER, AND FINISHING BACK INSIDE THE BALLPARK.
THIS COURSE HAS EVERYTHING - START/FINISH ON GRASS, PAVED TRAILS, DIRT TRAILS, PAVED (CLOSED) ROADS, AN UPHILL, A DOWNHILL, AND LOTS OF FUN!! Aid Stations at Miles: 1.4, 3.6, 7.1, 10, and 11.6. Porta Potties at Miles: *3.8, *5.1 & *7.0 (*inside Preserve), and Mile 10.

MMA Fight Pass landed in Bakersfield on Saturday Night. They hosted 16 amateur fights and entertained their large crowd. When the night was over their ring was gone and baseball was back in the stadium for 9AM Sunday Morning Bakersfield Adult Game.

The Tucson Saguaros did away with a team of Train Robbers, beating visiting Bakersfield 13-4 and 6-4 in the first round of the Pecos League playoffs, held at Kino Stadium.



The club scored four runs in the fifth inning of Fridays Game 2 to secure a 6-4 win and the series sweep. Tucsons Steve Joyner, BJ Minarcin and Sadler Goodwin all had RBI hits in the inning. The Saguaros bullpen allowed just one run over the final four innings to secure the victory.

The two-time defending Pecos League champions will head to Northern California for a best-of-three Pacific Conference finals against the top-seeded San Rafael Pacifics that starts Monday. Win that series, and Tucson will advance to the Pecos League finals, where theyll take on either the Trinidad Triggers or Roswell Invaders.

Few teams in the Pecos League are hotter than Tucson, whose logo features a saguaro with a bat slung over his shoulder and spines ready to prick the opponent. Following the Thursday-Friday sweep, the Saguaros are 36-8 so far this season and a whopping 14-2 at home.
