There was a unsuspecting finisher at the Judgement Half Day Marathon at Sam Lynn Ballpark in Bakersfield on Sunday. Robby the Train Robbber strolled across the line as a finisher. This was the 15th annual 1/2 Marathon hosted by Judgement Day. It is a very scenic course. It starts and finishes at Sam Lynn Ballpark. Runners circle on the paved Kern River Paved Trail up Panorama Blues and back down to finish.

The Pecos League is mourning the su

The Pecos League is mourning the sudden passing of Bakersfield Train Robbers pitcher Nick Danbrowney. The 22-year old, from Barnegat, New Jersey was involved in an automobile accident on Monday night August 18 that took his life.

Danbrowney finished an outstanding college career earlier this year, setting the Ramapo College career strikeout record.

He was signed by the Train Robbers in late June along with his Ramapo College teammate Jack Martin. Together they bolstered the Bakersfield bullpen and helped the team rally to second place in the Pacific Division. Danbrowney, after several stellar relief appearances, joined the starting rotation.

"I"m numb," said Train Robbers Manager Bill Rogan. "Our entire team is devastated. Even though we went our separate ways after the season, we"re still a close knit group. We"re having trouble dealing with this. Nick was a gentleman off the field and a terrific pitcher on the mound with a bright future. We loved Nick and will never forget him."

The news also hit Dublin Leprechauns Manager David Aceron hard. "Nick was an exceptional athlete who motivated others with his fierce competitive spirit, leaving behind a lasting legacy," Aceron said.

Danbrowney was a Social Science major at Ramapo College in Mahwah, New Jersey. Funeral arrangements are still pending.

July 30 2025 The Dublin Leprechauns defeated the Bakersfield Train Robbers 15-9 in the first round of the championship. Dublin collected 20 hits and broke open a close game with eight runs in the eighth inning after scoring four in the third two in the fourth and one in the sixth. Bakersfield scored once in the first four times in the fourth and twice in each of the fifth and sixth innings but was held scoreless over the final three frames.

C. Richter led Dublin with four hits four RBI and one run, while D. Hale went 3-for-5 and scored twice. S. Ott scored four runs and reached base three times with two hits and three walks. D. Leek and A. De La Cruz each added three hits, and C. Bogue delivered two RBI in a reserve role. Dublin"s 20-hit attack included five doubles.

Makana Fo earned the win after pitching a scoreless seventh inning with one strikeout, and J. Rivera followed with two scoreless innings to close out the victory. Dublin starter N. Camacho allowed five runs on five hits in four innings, while B. Moreno worked two innings and allowed four runs. Bakersfield starter N. Danbrowney struck out seven over six innings but allowed seven runs on 12 hits. J. Gay and N. Danbrowney hit home runs for Bakersfield, which finished with 11 hits.

July 29 2025 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 7-4 at Sam Lynn Ballpark, using a four-run stretch across the seventh and eighth innings to secure the win. Bakersfield collected 11 hits, while Dublin finished with seven.

Bakersfield scored twice in the second inning, twice in the fifth, twice in the seventh and once in the eighth. Dublin answered with two runs in the third and two more in the sixth but could not complete the comeback. J. Starick went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI, while J. Ohashi had three hits and drove in three runs. J. Riddle added two RBIs.

A. Jovan started for Bakersfield and worked six innings, allowing six hits and four runs, three earned, while striking out eight and walking three. B. Krolikowski earned the win after a scoreless inning, and J. Martin recorded the save with two scoreless innings and one strikeout.

Dublin’s D. Leek had two hits and two walks, and D. Hale had a hit, a run and an RBI. C. Caporale struck out four in 4.2 innings for Dublin, while D. Hatchett was charged with the loss after allowing two runs in 1.2 innings.

Dublin opened their Pacific Division semifinal road series in Bakersfield by scoring ten runs in the first two innings Monday night en route to a 17-6 thrashing of the Train Robbers. Leprechauns right fielder Damone Hale hit for the cycle, driving in six runs, while Sam Ott reached base five times and scored four runs. Jumpei Ohashi had three hits for the Train Robbers and John Gay sliced a two-run double but the night belonged to Dublin.

July 27 2025 The Monterey Amberjacks defeated the Bakersfield Train Robbers 8-2, scoring in five of the first seven innings and finishing with 11 hits. Monterey took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, added another run in the second and extended the advantage with two runs in the third. After Bakersfield scored twice in the fourth, Monterey answered with two runs in the bottom half and added single runs in the fifth and seventh innings.

Oswaldo Caldera led Monterey with two hits and three RBIs. Ivan Verdugo, Tyler Toland, Trenton Avitia and Diego Fernandez also drove in runs, while Alex Elliott and Ramiro Reyna each collected two hits. Greg Salazar contributed at the plate with a hit, two runs and a walk.

Salazar earned the win with a complete-game performance, allowing six hits and two runs, including two earned, while striking out 11 and walking two. Bakersfield starter Jacob Perez took the loss after allowing eight hits and seven runs in five innings, with five earned runs, four walks and six strikeouts. Josiah Bowles and Cook C. combined to complete the game for Bakersfield.

Bakersfield scored twice in the second inning, added three runs in the fourth, and extended its lead with single runs in the seventh and eighth before breaking the game open with five runs in the ninth.

Jumpei Ohashi powered the Train Robbers offense with three hits, three runs and four RBI, including two home runs. Jared Gay added two hits and three RBI, Tyler Warr went 1-for-5 with two RBI and a home run, and Ashanti Ross finished with three hits, one RBI and three runs scored. Joe Riddle also contributed two hits and an RBI from the pitcher’s spot.

Riddle earned the win after allowing one hit and no runs over five innings. He walked three and struck out three. Nick Danbrowney followed with two scoreless innings and three strikeouts, while Jayden Metz and Jack Martin each worked a scoreless inning to complete the shutout.

Bakersfield finished with nine hits and no errors, while Vallejo collected 10 hits and also played error-free baseball. Vallejo scored once in the first and twice in the third, but Bakersfield answered with two runs in the second, two in the third and one in the fifth before its seventh-inning surge made it 9-3.

Jumpei Ohashi led Bakersfield with two hits and three RBI. Tyler McKenna and Emilio Luna each had two hits, with McKenna driving in two runs. Tyler Warr added one hit and two RBI, while Jared Gay contributed a hit and an RBI. Vallejo’s Brendan Hillis went 3-for-4, and Michael Pavelchak had two hits including a triple. The Train Robbers finished with seven hits and committed no errors while Dublin collected 10 hits and made two errors.

Jared Gay and Ashanti Ross each had two hits for Bakersfield, while Joe Riddle drove in two runs. Joe Starick scored twice and added an RBI, and Riddle also scored once. Dublin catcher Carson Richter powered the Leprechauns with three hits, two home runs and four RBIs, while Donnie Gardiner added two hits and Dylan Leek had two hits and a stolen base.

Monterey took a 2-0 lead with single runs in the second and fifth innings. Bakersfield answered with three runs in the sixth and four more in the seventh to move ahead 7-2. Monterey scored three times in the eighth, but Bakersfield held on for the victory.

July 22 2025 The Bakersfield Train Robbers rallied for two runs in the ninth inning to defeat the Monterey Amberjacks 5-4 at Sam Lynn Ballpark. Bakersfield collected 14 hits and overcame a 4-3 deficit entering the final inning while Monterey finished with five hits and three errors.

Monterey scored twice in the third and twice in the fourth. Luis Medina went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI while Jason Hartwick doubled and drove in a run. Oswaldo Caldera and Alex Elliott also recorded RBIs for the Amberjacks.

Bakersfield answered with single runs in the second fifth and sixth innings before taking the lead in the ninth. Ashanti Ross and Jumpei Ohashi each had two hits and Ryan Anderson went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Luke Eskew added two hits and an RBI while Tyler McKenna delivered two RBIs.

Jack Martin earned the win for Bakersfield after throwing two scoreless innings with five strikeouts. Nick Danbrowney struck out nine in five innings but allowed four runs and took a no-decision. Monterey scored twice in the first inning, added three runs in the second and pushed across two more in the fifth before scoring six in the sixth. Bakersfield answered with three runs in the second, one in the fourth, three in the fifth and five in the sixth before breaking the game open with its 12-run seventh inning.

Jared Gay led Bakersfield with three hits, four RBI and a home run. Jumpei Ohashi added three hits and three RBI, while Joe Starick drove in two runs and Joe Riddle scored three times with two RBI. Emilio Luna had three hits and three runs for the Train Robbers.

Bakersfield added a run in the fifth and two more in the ninth.

Jared Gay led Bakersfield with a 2-for-4 performance that included a home run, four RBI and two runs scored. Joe Riddle went 2-for-5 with three RBI, while Jumpei Ohashi and Emilio Luna each recorded two hits. Riddle also delivered the winning pitching performance.

Riddle allowed eight hits and three earned runs in five innings while striking out seven and walking three. Jared Gay led the Train Robbers by going 2-for-4 with three runs scored an RBI and a home run. Emilio Luna added an RBI and Art Joven contributed a hit and two RBIs. Bakersfield also scored once in the first inning and added a run in the fifth to build its winning total.

Joven earned the win after allowing four runs on 12 hits in 6.1 innings with two walks and six strikeouts. Jayden Metz worked 0.2 scoreless innings before Jack Martin recorded the save with two innings of one-hit relief and four strikeouts. San Rafaels Kyle Guerra went 4-for-5 with a run while Mark Hernandez drove in two runs but Alex Valasek took the loss despite striking out nine in seven innings.

San Rafael scored twice in the first inning, added five runs in the second, six in the third and two in the fourth to take a 15-1 advantage. The Pacifics added three runs in the sixth and finished with a 10-run margin.

Mark Hernandez led San Rafael with three hits, including a home run and two doubles, and drove in six runs. Aki Buckson went 5-for-6 with two home runs, four runs and two RBI, while John Bicos hit a home run and finished with three RBI. Kyle Guerra added three hits, four runs and two RBI, and Fred Buckson collected three hits and an RBI.

Chris Allen earned the win for San Rafael, allowing one earned run on eight hits in four innings while striking out eight. Richard Kiel worked three innings and allowed three runs, and James Courshon recorded the save with a scoreless ninth that included two strikeouts.

Bakersfield took an early 1-0 lead before breaking the game open with five runs in the third inning. The Train Robbers added single runs in the fourth and fifth, then scored twice in each of the sixth seventh and eighth innings. Martinez scored twice in the third and fourth innings and added two runs in the seventh before scoring once in each of the final two innings.

Jared Gay led Bakersfield with three hits including a home run and three RBI. Joe Riddle scored three runs while producing two hits and two RBI, and Tyler McKenna scored three times with two hits and one RBI. Emilio Luna and Jumpei Ohashi each collected three hits and two RBI. For Martinez, Ramon Enriquiez went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI and hit a home run, while Tyler Best had two hits and two walks.

Nick Danbrowney was credited as the winning pitcher for Bakersfield, and Ian Concevitch took the loss for Martinez. Concevitch worked five innings and allowed 10 hits eight runs seven earned runs and one walk while striking out seven. Martinez used four pitchers in the game, while Bakersfield used four pitchers and held the Sturgeon to four earned runs.

Martinez broke through with three runs in the third inning and added three more in the fourth. The Sturgeon scored once in the sixth, twice in the seventh, once in the eighth and twice in the ninth. Harrison Treble went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs and one RBI, while Andrew Curran went 4-for-5 with three runs and one RBI. Tyler Best drove in two runs, and Sam Freedman had two hits and one RBI.

Clayton Friemuth earned the win with seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out 13 without issuing a walk. Jackson Kea followed with a scoreless eighth before Bakersfield scored six times in the ninth against David Flanigan and JT Hollis.

Tyler McKenna led Bakersfield with two RBI, while Jared Gay and JD Leslie each drove in a run. Kyle Langston took the loss after allowing six runs on five hits and three walks in four innings. Jacob Perez worked four innings and allowed four runs, and Azhar Khan surrendered two runs in the ninth.

Joe Starick went 4-for-6 with four runs and three RBIs, while Jumpei Ohashi added three hits and three runs. Tyler Warr scored twice and drove in a run, and Joe Riddle contributed two RBIs.

Tyler Warr led Bakersfield with two hits and three RBI, while Jumpei Ohashi went 3-for-5 and Emilio Luna had two hits and scored twice. Vallejo received two hits apiece from Michael Pavelchak and Aaron Harper. Bryce Hayman was credited with two RBI, and Trey Fletcher and Jacob Savoy also drove in runs for the Seaweed. After Martinez took a 3-0 lead in the fifth inning and added four runs in the sixth to move ahead 7-4 the Train Robbers answered with a run in the seventh before erupting for three runs in the ninth. Bakersfield had earlier scored twice in the second and once in the third.

Jared Gay led Bakersfield with two hits three runs and two RBI while Joe Riddle went 3-for-4 with a double two runs and an RBI. Tyler Warr added three hits and two RBI and Art Joven had a double and an RBI. Martinez’s Ramon Enriquiez hit a home run and drove in four runs while Sam Freedman contributed a double and an RBI.

Dillon Stimpson earned the win after throwing one scoreless inning with two strikeouts. Jack Martin recorded the save with a perfect ninth inning and three strikeouts. Victor Ceniceros led Dublin with three hits and four RBI, while Damone Hale went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Drew Bayard added two hits and scored twice, and Sam Ott scored twice, drove in a run and earned the win after pitching a scoreless ninth inning.

Joe Riddle led Bakersfield with two hits and five RBI and hit his fourth home run of the season. Ashanti Ross went 3-for-5 with four runs and three RBI, while Drake Ayala had two hits, three runs and three RBI. Joe Starick added three hits, three runs and two RBI, and Jumpei Ohashi hit a home run while driving in three runs.

San Rafael scored four runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth to cut the deficit, but Bakersfield answered with a run in the fifth, another in the sixth and five in the seventh. Gino Hutchinson paced the Pacifics with three hits and three RBI. Kyle Guerra and Jorge Rios each had two hits, with Guerra also driving in a run.

Bakersfield added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings. JD Leslie went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Jared Gay was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Joe Starick led the Train Robbers with three hits, three runs and five RBI in six at-bats. Jumpei Ohashi went 3-for-5 with three RBI, while Joe Riddle added three hits and scored three runs. Jared Gay had three hits, three runs and one RBI, and Emilio Luna reached base four times with two hits and two walks. JD Leslie contributed two hits and two RBI.

A.J. Cordova earned the win after allowing one run on seven hits in eight innings. He walked two and struck out five while throwing 61 strikes in 93 pitches. Dillon Stimpson worked a scoreless ninth with one hit allowed and one strikeout.

Martinez overcame a two-run deficit in the bottom of the 12th, scoring three runs to secure the victory. The Sturgeon finished with 11 hits and three errors while Bakersfield collected 12 hits and committed six errors.

Bakersfield built an 8-5 lead through three innings after scoring four runs in the second and two in the third. Martinez answered with one run in the first, four in the second and one in the seventh before both teams scored twice in the 11th to enter the 12th tied at 8-8. The Train Robbers scored twice in the top half of the final inning, but Martinez responded with three runs in the bottom half.

Sam Freedman hit a home run and drove in two runs for Martinez, while Wataru Kumagai and Jackson Kea also homered. Andrew Curran went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI and two walks. Kea added two hits and an RBI, and Kumagai finished with two RBI. For Bakersfield, Jumpei Ohashi had two hits and three RBI, while Ashanti Ross had two hits and two RBI.

David Flanigan earned the win after pitching a scoreless inning with no hits and one strikeout, although he allowed two unearned runs. Michael Pavelchak led Vallejo with two hits and scored once. Andrew Mason and Thomas Fitzpatrick each drove in a run, while Fitzpatrick added a double. Trey Fletcher hit a triple, and Aaron Harper also recorded an RBI. For Bakersfield, Drake Ayala had the club’s only multi-RBI performance with two runs batted in, while Emilio Luna and Jared Gay each scored once.

Joe Riddle kept Bakersfield in front early with six scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out two. Josiah Bowles added a scoreless seventh before Dillon Stimpson took the loss after allowing three runs, two earned, on two hits and four walks over 1.1 innings.

Martinez surged in front with seven runs in the first inning, but Bakersfield answered with six in the second to pull even at 7-7. The Sturgeon added two runs in the third, four in the sixth, one in the eighth, three in the ninth and one in the 10th. Bakersfield scored once in the first and sixth innings, five times in the seventh and four times in the eighth before being held scoreless in the ninth and 10th.

Sam Freedman led the Sturgeon offense with four hits, three runs, six RBI and a home run. Andrew Curran scored three runs, drove in two and drew three walks, while Tanner Graham went 3-for-5 with three runs and two walks. Tyler Best added two hits, two walks and an RBI, and Josiah Collado contributed three RBI.

Monterey was held scoreless over the final five innings.

Tyler McKenna led Bakersfield with three hits, two home runs and five RBI. Ashanti Ross went 4-for-4 with three runs, one RBI and three stolen bases, while Joe Starick added a hit and an RBI. McKennas two home runs accounted for Bakersfields only homers of the game.

Abraham De La Cruz paced Dublin with three hits, two runs and one RBI. Chris Alfonseca added two hits and a run, while Carson Richter scored twice and John Inglis contributed a hit and two RBI. Dublin committed four errors compared with two for Bakersfield.

Bill Rogan and the Bakersfield Train Robbers have created their own scoreboard. Sam Lynn Ballpark has not had a working scoreboard since 2019 and has no plans of getting one. The biggest complaint of fans was solved by Rogan with his on fence scoreboard this first of its kind. The scores are taped each inning.

Hey Bakersfield! Come out and join us for a graffiti art contest during the Bakersfield Train Robbers game on June 27, 2025 at Sam Lynn Ballpark. To participate, contestants must register by June 23, 2025 by sending their information to info@pecosleague.com. Contestants are allowed to start their painting at 7:00 PM and must be completed at 9:30 PM.

Graffiti is defined as images or lettering scratched, scrawled, painted or marked in any manner on buildings, bridges, or other surfaces. Graffiti may appear as anything from simply words to elaborate murals. So bring your creativity and show us your best graffiti art!

The graffiti will be completed on a canvas. Graffiti will be done on walls of shipping containers with spray paint cans with special tips and markers or other approved methods. No glass scratching is allowed. Nothing that would damage the property is allowed and if performed will be disqualified.

Only original works of art will be allowed. Entries containing discriminatory content, gang names, or insignia is not allowed and will be disqualified. No MLB, NFL, NBA, or NHL team logos or other copyrighted images are allowed.

Criteria for judging

Overall look, feel, and design Color – Judges will be looking to see how well the artist used color to make their pieces. Originality – Judges are looking for something new and different. The artist’s style must be unique. Technique –This is where we consider the artist can take control. What the artist does with technique will set their piece apart from the rest.

The wait is over for fans at Sam Lynn. After years of no scoreboard the Train Robbers will feature the best scoreboard in the entire Pecos League. The Train Robbers will feature a fully digital scoreboard powered by Flexyscore Powerful Scoreboard system. Flexyscore is an Italian Sports Display Company where Your creativity is the limit.

Charros De Jalisco take over stadium in two game series in Bakersfield

Charros De Jalisco fans took over Sam Lynn Ballpark in their two Spring Training games over the weekend. In doing so the All-Time Sam Lynn Attedence record was broken on Saturday Night.

Liga Mexicana will land in Bakersfield on April 4 and April Charros de Jalisco vs Bravos de Leon

Bravos de Leon and Charros Jalisco of Liga Mexicana will play two games at Sam Lynn Ballpark in Bakersfield, California on April 5 at 6:30 PM and April 6 at 1:00 PM.

The Charros de Jalisco are a professional baseball team who compete in both the Mexican League and the Mexican Pacific League, based in Zapopan, Jalisco, in the Guadalajara metropolitan area. Their home ballpark is Estadio Panamericano, which has a capacity of 16,500 people.

The Bravos de Leon are a professional baseball team in the Mexican League based in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Sam Lynn Ballpark renovations underway

The Oldest Ballpark in California is in process of renovations.. On January 15th the most visible of the renovations started with painting of the outfield fence. The fences date backs to the Bakersfield Dodgers Era and this has been preserved with a fresh coat of Dodger Blue Paint. The entire stadium will be painted and the parking lot was recently completed resurfaced. The playing surface is being addressed as well as the batter"s eye in Centerfield.   2025 will mark the 8th year of Pecos League Baseball in Sam Lynn Ballpark.
  The Train Robbers remain in the six team all California Pacific Division of the Pecos League with all of the familiar teams. Monterey Amberjacks, Vallejo Seaweed, San Rafael Pacifics, Martinez Sturgeon and Dublin Leprechauns.
  
  The Train Robbers are set to open the season on Thursday May 22 hosting the Monterey Amberjacks for a three game series. The Vallejo Seaweed come to town for two games including the first Monday Night Game of the year on May 26.
  
  The Train Robbers will play every Monday Night at home in the 2025 season as part of Sam Lynn $1 beer tradition. Bakersfield will travel for seven four game road games to Bay Area on Thursday through Sundays.
